Just like how you get your car ready for winter, it’s important to get your VOSKER camera winter-ready too! Cold weather and shorter days can affect your camera’s performance — especially the battery. When it’s really cold, battery charge doesn’t last as long, and with less sunlight, solar charging slows down.
But don’t worry! Start the season with a fresh, fully charged battery and then follow these three easy tips to help your camera stay strong all winter long.

1. Switch to Standard Mode
If you use the VKX camera, try switching from On-Demand Mode to Standard Mode. This change can help your battery last much longer.
In Standard Mode, your camera will still send you previews when it detects motion, but you won't be able to request on-demand footage instantly.
If you want to use On-Demand Mode, using the Snooze feature can help save power by pausing detections from 30 minutes up to 8 hours. For example, if you only need to check your job site at the end of the day, snoozing it during working hours can avoid unnecessary detections draining battery power.
2. Use Photo Mode
Videos use a lot more power than photos. So, if you don’t need to record video, switch your camera to Photo Mode.
Taking photos instead of videos helps your battery last longer — and you’ll still be able to keep an eye on your property!

3. Set a Schedule
Another great way to improve battery life is by using the scheduling feature. You can set your camera to turn on only when you need it — like at night or during the week.
This helps reduce unnecessary detections and keeps your camera working longer between charges.

Extra Winter Tips
If your camera is in a busy spot, it might be triggering too often. Try to keep it under 25 detections a day for the best battery life. If it’s going off too much, move it away from busy roads or areas with lots of movement.
And for even better winter performance, you can add extra power! The VOSKER V-LIT-B3HD Battery and VOSKER Solar Power Bank for compatible cameras are great options to keep your camera running strong for longer, even in freezing weather.
Getting your camera winter-ready doesn’t take long, and these small changes can make a big difference!
