SIA New Member Profile: Vosker

New Security Industry Association(SIA) member Vosker designs and manufactures the world’s first mobile security cameras, which require no Wi-Fi or AC power to operate and are wire-free and LTE mobile enabled. The company is headquartered in Victoriaville, Québec, Canada. SIA spoke with Vosker General Manager Amélie Rivet about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.  

TELL US THE STORY OF YOUR COMPANY.

  AR: Having a founding team with a technology background, Vosker aimed to address the challenge of remote monitoring (i.e., locations where wired electricity or internet connectivity cannot be installed) for their friends and families. After several months of testing and development, we developed the first version of what would become the V200, a Vosker flagship product. Our team of employees is continually striving towards a new era of connectivity with the Vosker product line. Today, we are distributing our products across North America and Europe, and are always working on the next innovation. Since January 2020, Vosker is a member of the Techno-X Group, which comprises, to date, five companies specialised in technology and customer service to provide optimal support and products to their clients.  

 

WHAT SOLUTIONS/SERVICES DOES YOUR BUSINESS OFFER IN THE SECURITY INDUSTRY? AND WHAT MAKES YOUR OFFERINGS/COMPANY UNIQUE?

  AR: In 2019, Vosker revolutionised the security market by designing and manufacturing the world's first wireless security camera. Vosker's cameras are weatherproof and resilient to all conditions, from cold winter temperatures to hot summer days. We also offer the most reliable, flexible and secure mobile network system available on the market today, positioning the company as a key player in the security industry. The Vosker V200, our most innovative product to date, is the only 100% wireless, solar-powered mobile security camera available on the market. Requiring no Wi-Fi connection thanks to its LTE mobile connectivity, the Vosker V200 works where competitors' cameras cannot. Equipped with infrared lights providing unparalleled night vision, it also offers a wide adjustable-angle motion detector to cover a larger land area. In addition, Vosker is the only company to offer a GPS positioning system, enabling consumers to ascertain the precise location of their camera. Our mobile application for iOS and Android systems allows users to configure their camera and view the images captured at any time of day. Thanks to the image recognition system capable of distinguishing humans from motor vehicles, the user receives a notification as soon as suspicious movement is detected by their camera.  

WHAT IS SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOUR COMPANY – OR SOMETHING NEW YOU ARE DOING IN SECURITY?

  AR: Vosker is a company that prides itself on promoting gender parity. In a predominantly male-dominated industry, 50 per cent of Vosker's team is comprised of women. I was proud to be appointed as general manager last January. There are very few women in executive positions in the security industry, and I am continually developing new ideas to deliver the best security system on the market. Vosker is an innovative company with modern values which is only at the beginning of its success.  

 

WHAT DOES SIA OFFER THAT IS MOST IMPORTANT TO YOU/YOUR COMPANY? AND WHAT DO YOU MOST HOPE TO GET OUT OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP WITH SIA?

  AR: Vosker participated in the SIA New Product Showcase in 2019 and won the Video Surveillance Mobile Solutions category award with the V200. This award was a game-changer for us to gain greater credibility as a company, and it helped us build relationships within the security industry. Being a member of SIA also presents the opportunity to gain further market insight and design efficient security cameras. We are looking forward to continuing our collaboration with SIA and participating in upcoming virtual events.
