UNDERSTANDING V100 LED PATTERNS

What to expect when you turn on your V100 camera:

  • The 5 blue bars will blink blue searching for a signal.
  • Once the signal is stable, you should see between 2 to 5 steady blue bars.
  • The delay LED will start blinking red for about 30 seconds.
  • All the lights will go off.
  • Wait until the ‘Busy’ LED on the back of the unit (a faint light at the bottom) turns OFF.
  • Once the busy LED is off, you should be able to view your transmitted photos in your app.

Low Battery:

When the battery will not have sufficient power, at the initial startup of your camera, you should see:

  • The 5 blue bars blink and shortly goes faint blue OR
  • The blue bars are stuck in a loop and do not seem to have a usual pattern

Low Signal:

  • The 5 blue bars will blink blue searching for a signal.
  • Once the signal is stable, you see less than 3 steady blue bars.

For maximizing signal strength, check this article: How to maximize signal strength

SD Card Error:

  • The 5 blue bars blink normally searching for a signal.
  • 2 to 5 bars become steady, but the red delay LED does not blink.

In this case, make sure you are formatting your SD card. Check Compatible SD/ Micro SD cards and How to format SD/MicroSD card.

SIM Card or Modem Error:

  • The 5 blue bars blink normally searching for a signal.
  • One blue bar starts blinking

The pattern above could not only be specific to the SIM card or the modem (hardware) but the issue could also be coming from the SD card itself or its slot, or simply for having no signal strength. Therefore, it is important to verify each aspect to identify and resolve the issue accordingly.

Updating Firmware:

  • Normal initial startup where 5 blue bars blink searching for a signal.
  • You get some steady blue bars when the signal is stable.
  • The Delay LED starts blinking and at the same time the busy light at the back of the unit (a faint light at the bottom) starts blinking too.
  • The busy LED will stop and continue with the initial behavior again which will indicate that the camera has done a reboot and is now up-to-date.

Note : DO NOT power your camera OFF during a firmware update. If you must power off, wait for all lights to go OFF (including busy LED)
